On July 1, 2023, Google Analytics, as we know it, will close. Instead, it will be replaced by the new Google Analytics 4. Below we will tell you more about the new GA4 and give you a unique guide to set it up.

Google Analytics has, like so much else, been challenged on data due to the cookie and GDPR rules. GA4's solution to the challenge is Machine learning and AI, where algorithms are used to analyze existing data.

How to set up Google Analytics 4
- Go to analytics.google.com
- Click on the administrator (at the gear, in the bottom left corner)
- Under Property (middle column), click "Create Property"
- Enter your information and accept the terms
Once these steps are completed, you are ready to track your valuable data on GA4.
Note: The Google Analytics account you have used so far must run in parallel with Google Analytics 4.
Remember to link Google Ads with GA4
As Google Ads performs based on the data coming from Google Analytics, it is essential that you also remember to link these 2 platforms together at once. Here's how:
- In Google Analytics 4, go to the Admin module
- Then click on "Google Ads Links"
- Click on the "link" and then select the account you want to link. Then click confirm.
- Then click on "next" and then "send"
Thus, your accounts are connected and now you need to import your conversions from GA4 to Google Ads. Here's how to do it:
- Go to ads.google.com
- Go to tools and settings where you select "conversions" under "measurement"
- Import conversions by clicking "New conversion action"
- Click on your GA4 list and select web
- Select your conversions and press "import and continue"
Now your Google Analytics 4 is as good as set up and you are ready for the new and more exciting ways to track your data.
